“When am I getting my condo?” That’s the question of the day.
It’s a Saturday and weekend, and had actually made great plans for it earlier this week. Supposed to be guys’ chill out yesterday and golf today, but in the end bro, RS was quarantined at home. His friend got suspected H1N1 after they came back from a trip and so he’s stucked at home even though he is well and thus all plans were cancelled. But I think he also damn sian, cause cannot go out. We will organise one next week for you, bro.
Lucky we have got a backup plan (play by ear). Together with RJ and Teo, we went to Brigette’s place to swim, not really swim, more like soaking in water and relaxing, while waiting for the sun to set. The pool was rather empty, and we concluded that maybe the people who bought their condo there are actually too busy to spend time in the pool or using the facilities. We could be wrong, but anyway these people are rich.
Dinner was the 3 of us plus Brigette, Shu Ting and Jewel at East Coast Lagoon. We ordered zhi ca (煮炒), sotong, sting ray, kangkong, wings and youtiao (Jewel had delicious chicken bones but she still look very sad). Food is good and I actually thought it was better than yesterday’s food at Jap restaurant at Clarke Quay, which Teo brought us to, for “Japanese Fine Dining.” Didn’t like cold Sake that much maybe. Well, it could also be the ambience and company we had today.
On the way back to Brigette’s house, saw a young guy with a dog (I think it’s a white german shepherd puppy) having an argument with an old lady (prob 70s). They were practically yelling away at each other (We have already got into the tunnel and could still hear the conversation on the surface). We were curious what was happening, but none of us want to get into trouble of course. We guessed probably the dog disturbed her and she made a fuss of it. The guy probably got pissed off and irritated and the lady probably went on and on, and then they started throwing temper. And the question pops up in our heads, “Will you argue with an elderly stranger for whatever reasons?”
As people gets older they are usually more long-winded (I totally agree with that). I guess probably I will use the one-ear-in-one-ear-out technique that I have acquired over the years of vigorous training. What’s the point of arguing with them? Not worth it.
I better write it down first in case I forget, got such bad memories nowadays. Shu Ting getting married in december and I must wrapped big angbao. She told us today she and ZK bought a house at Toa Payoh (ready in 2013). We were not surprised by the fact she bought a unit, kinda expected it, but instead the price they paid for it. 490K for 4 room flat… Got so expensive a not? I would rather pay more to buy a condo or a cheaper unit elsewhere. She claims that the location is good, but I would rather settle for something else if I were them. Think it’s about time to start looking into houses’ prices. So scary.
Tomorrow will be another whole day out again. Bedtime. Ciaoz.
So the answer to the question of the day, “probably not so soon, another 10 years maybe”.
